How does my life, the people in it, the places I visit, impact the way I express myself in my Expressions?

In 1978 I saw clear parallels between a specific period in my life and the photos taken during this period. See: 1978 – Conception – 60 years of Photography (leongoldsmith.com).

I find it difficult, now, in 2024 to see the parallels, that surely existed, in the years 2006 and 2007. Maybe it is because as one gets older, life gets more complex and complicated.

I see two impactful events happening in these two years, Chaim’s illness and death, in Johannesburg and the formalisation of the idea of seven areas in my life and their representation in a website. So again I ask myself, how did these two events impact my self and can I see any manifestations in my Expressions?

That is: Final independence and seeing myself as the sum of areas.

Man of the World? Too soon to feel the impact?

And then I say:

Look at the photos and see what they have to say. Feel the magic, see how the photo expands my world, understand what else the imagery has to say. And then; what does all this say about me. 

On another note..

These are the tools that I constantly and consistently use when taking photos:

Composition, colour, movement, wide-angle, medium format (with its narrow depth of field), examining the frame in the viewfinder, use of tripod, long exposure, careful use of depth of field, waiting for the right moment.
